The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1970 as a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 31.4m NE-SW; 28m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank and external fosse. The bank (Wth at top 1m; overall Wth 5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.5m) is best preserved from SE-S-W-N-NE and is almost reduced to a scarp elsewhere. A small portion of the scarp is quarried away at ESE and there are modern gaps at SW and W. A slight depression in the upper edge of the scarp at ENE may represent the entrance (Wth at top 6.6m; basal Wth 3.5m). A shallow U-shaped fosse is only visible from W-N-NNE. Monument is visible as a roughly oval-shaped earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
