Situated on top of a low rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a suboval-shaped enclosure (approx. overall dims. 42m N-S; 47m E-W). Ringfort (WM020-040----) lies c. 90m to E.
Monument described in 1970-72 as a roughly circular-shaped area enclosed by an earthen bank, fosse and traces of a low outer bank, causewayed entrance at SSW and a number of small disturbance gaps elsewhere. The inner bank is high and steep and almost reduced to a scarp. The wide fosse is best preserved from SSW-W-NNW and from E-SSE. Elsewhere the fosse is shallow or disturbed by digging, particularly at E, where it has been quarried. The low outer bank only survives at NE and from E-SE-SSE. Modern field fences contact the bank at NNW and NE. Three house sites (WM020-039001-/002-/003-) are located within the interior. Monument is visible as an oval-shaped earthwork containing three house sites on Digital Globe aerial photography.
