The National Monuments Service's description
Sub-circular shaped earthwork depicted in field to NNW of Oldgrove House on 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map but not indicated on subsequent editions of the OS maps. Aerial photographs (CUCAP APE030) of this area taken in 1966 indicate the presence of a complex of earthworks including sunken trackway and raised triangular shaped earthworks. Extensive & complex system of field banks running at various angles from the earthworks. Earthworks possibly belong to a field system associated with Oldgrove House which no longer survives. The sunken trackway visible on the aerial photograph taken in 1966 represents the entrance avenue leading to Oldgrove House which is depicted on 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map. These earthen banks and enclosure are annotated as an 'Old Grave' on the 1837 OS Fair plan map, the annotation 'Old Grave' may indicate that this earthwork was a burial mound or possible mound barrow (SMR File for WM019-027----). The earthworks are visible today on Digital Globe aerial photographs taken November 2011.
