The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork with field boundary running NE-SW across the W quadrant and a rectangular building within the interior. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as slightly modified, oval-shaped earthwork in the W corner of a field, with no structure indicated in centre.
Monument described in 1977 as consisting of a broad oval-shaped area (dims. 55m NW-SE; 44m NE-SW) defined by a high, yet gently sloping scarp. The surface of the scarp has been levelled, particularly from SE-S-SW. There is no visible trace of a fosse. The original entrance is not recognisable. The S quadrant of the interior has been levelled. According to local information, a boars tusk was found within this disturbed area. Possible house sites (WM018-117001-) located within N quadrant. Monument visible as a roughly oval-shaped earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 8/1977).
