The National Monuments Service's description
Recorded in 1981 that a 'note pencilled onto map refers to a cross near Newbristy school. This is referred to in OS Letters. It is not marked on O. S. map. Newbristy School is situated beside the road on boundary of Ballymorin and Tobercormick townlands. A local woman said "she had heard tell that the like was there long ago" ' (SMR file). The OS Letters recorded that 'On Mullach an tSleibhe, near Newbristy National Schoolhouse there stood a cross which was frequently visited by persons who performed stations or repeated prayers at it.' The precise location of this monument is unknown and the current coordinates can only be considered indicative. (SMR file)
