The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a small prominent rise, in undulating pasture, having good views to S and W with extensive views to N and E. Depicted on the 1837 OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped enclosure, c. 20m S of a public road. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a horseshoe-shaped earthwork indicating that the site had been partially quarried between these two dates.
Described in 1980 as an oval-shaped area (dims. 21m E-W; 16.5m N-W) defined by a low scarp with possible indications of an earthen bank at W. The original entrance is not recognisable and there is no indication of an external fosse. This monument has been extensively disturbed where part of the perimeter at N and most of the interior having been quarried out. The excavated area consists of a shallow depression with small field clearance stones deposited within. Small areas of the interior at E, S and W have been retained. The perimeter has been disturbed by livestock in places and the site is overgrown with vegetation. A preservation order was placed on this monument on the 11/11/1983. Monument visible today as a roughly circular-shaped tree-planted enclosure on Digital Globe aerial photography.
