The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a small natural rise, overlooked by a hill to S, in undulating pasture. Levelled monument barely visible on Digital Globe aerial photography as a light-green circular cropmark which is truncated by the angle of a field boundary running across S quadrant. Annotated ‘fort’ on the 1837 OS fair plan map. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area (approx. dims. 29m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by a scarp. Cropmark of levelled monument described in 1971 as a circular-shaped area (diam. 22m) defined by a ring (Wth 3m) of grass which contrasts in colour with the general shade of vegetation across this field. This discolouration probably represents the remains of an infilled fosse. No visible trace of an entrance. The interior of the levelled monument has a slight S-facing slope.
