The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight natural rise, in gently undulating pasture with intervening hollows of poorly drained ground. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a D-shaped tree-planted area (approx. dims. 38m NW-SE; c. 34m NE-SW) which appears to have been modified by a field boundary at SW and NW. This field boundary extends from the exterior of the monument at S and NNE. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly oval-shaped tree-planted area defined by a field boundary all around. Visible as a sub-oval tree-planted area on Digital Globe aerial photographs. Described in 1971 as a modified oval-shaped area defined by the remains of a bank which has been reduced to a steep scarp, altered in modern times. There is no obvious entrance and no visible trace of a fosse. The site was probably modified when reused as a small tree plantation. The interior rises slightly from the perimeter towards the centre. Some tree stumps remain in the ground and the site is largely overgrown with thorn bushes, hazel thickets and briars.
