The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in grassland on a low glacial hillock with stream immediately to S on the demesne lands of Clonyn Castle (WM013-014001-) located c. 800m to SSW. On the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map this earthwork is located in the small townland of Clonagapple with the stream to the S marking the S boundary of this townland. On later editions of the OS maps the monument is shown standing inside the townland of Clonyn. Present remains consist of a roughly circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 40m N-S; 45m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank with traces of an external fosse cut across by later post-1700 field boundary at NNE. The enclosure or possible ringfort appears to be standing in S quadrant of a small rectangular field of post 1700 date.
