The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a flat-topped hillock in grass-land with good views in all directions. Depicted on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map as a large oval-shaped earthwork and annotated on the OS Fair Plan map as ‘the shoemaker’s fort’. No depicted on subsequent editions of the OS 6-inch maps. This monument has been levelled, and all that remains is a circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 43m N-S; 42m E-W) defined by a low scarp. Outline of levelled monument barely visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph.
