The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on SSE facing slope of a low rise in poor grassland with good views over Lough Owel 250m to SW. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as a broad oval shaped earthwork annotated as ‘fort’. This monument has been almost completely levelled and is now visible as a large oval shaped area (approx. diam. 45m N-S; 40m E-W) enclosed by a very poorly preserved low bank and slight external fosse. The bank is only visible from N-E-SE. Visible as a crop mark on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011.
