The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on NE facing slope of a steep hill in grassland, with good views to NE. Ringfort (WM012-075----) 40m to N, motte and bailey (WM012-079---) 160m to S, Taghmon church (WM012-076----) and castle (WM012-074----) 360m and 490m to W respectively. Depicted as a ringfort on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map where it is shown standing alongside the avenue to the Glebe House. No depicted on subsequent editions of the OS 6-inch maps. The road which marks the boundary with the townland of Foxburrow lies 25m to N.
All that remains of this much degraded monument is a slightly raised sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 29m NE-SW) enclosed by a fosse which is barely visible at NW and ENE. Traces of cultivation ridges are visible running NNW-SSE across the interior, which rises towards the centre. A section of the perimeter from N-ENE has been quarried away. Visible as a faint crop mark on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011.
See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
