The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a gentle but prominent natural rise with good views, surrounded by gently undulating grassland, overlooked by slightly higher ground to the SSW. The stream which marks the townland boundary with Crowinstown is 80m to N. A sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 18m N-S; 20m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank and wide slight external fosse. There is an entrance gap (Wth 2.6m) at SE. A large rectangular depression occupies most of the interior, and is probably the remains of a house site (WM009-040001-). The site has now been levelled and is visible only as a faint crop mark on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011. Annotated 'Raharoone' and depicted as a bivallate circular shaped ringfort on a late 18th century estate map (NLI MS 21 F. 48 (012) ).
