The National Monuments Service's description
The present remains consist of the ruins of a post-1700 rectangular church (approx. dims. 5.5m N-S; 12m E-W) with walls (T 0.55m; H 3m) standing to roof height in N quadrant of irregular shaped graveyard (WM008-096001-). There is a ruinous tower (approx. dims. 2.4m N-S; 2.8m E-W; H 5m) at the NW end of the church with doorway in E wall of tower. There is a rounded window ope and door in the N gable of the transept and a similar round headed window in the E gable of the church. The interior contains tombstones & some wall tablets which mark the site of burial vaults & there is an entrance to a burial vault outside the W end. Local information suggests that the earlier medieval church was rebuilt for Protestant use in the 18th century and fell into disrepair with the building of St John’s Church at Loughstown, early in the 19th century. No surface remains visible of medieval church or of any fabric belonging to a medieval building.
