The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a steep ridge surrounded by gently undulating grassland, with excellent views in all directions. Earthwork (WM008-071----) 230m to SW. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly rectangular shaped earthwork intersected at N by a field boundary running E-W. Present remains consist of a raised sub-rectangular shaped area (approx. dims. 24m N-S x 27m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank. The bank is best preserved at N, and almost completely levelled elsewhere. The interior rises appreciably towards the centre. A curving earthen bank and external fosse cuts off the NE corner of the interior of the monument creating a sub-rectangular area (dims. 5.3m N-S; 5.8m E-W) which could be the remains of a possible house site. There is an entrance gap mid-way along this bank. The external SW side of the monument has been quarried into.
