The National Monuments Service's description
The files of the National Museum of Ireland records that in October 1992 a human skull was discovered on the edge of a lake at Froghanstown (Fore By.), Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath (Cahill & Sikora 2011, vol. 2, 520). The skull had been exposed on a lake shore, apparently as a result of tramping by cattle. No other details are recorded as to the disposition of the remains. The site was not investigated by NMI personnel and the remains were not acquired (NMI File).
