The National Monuments Service's description
This crannóg was listed as Kiltoom 2 and described by O'Sullivan (2004, 72) as following; 'This is a small, low-cairn crannóg (diam. 11m; H 1.2m). It is an irregular-shaped cairn, highly disturbed and damaged by modern intrusion. The cairn is constructed of large numbers of closely packed, water-rolled stones (L 30-15cm; Wth 10-15cm; T 10-15cm). Some large boulders, as well as modern concrete debris, are piled up on N side. There are some traces of a stone kerb at the SW edge. A low stone wall or jetty (L 2.3m) with adjacent ditch runs NW-SE down to the shore, 6m to the south. This feature, possibly of recent origin, may have been constructed out of the removed cairn material. There is a modern duck-hide wall at the water’s edge, 4m to W. (O'Sullivan et. al. 2007, 123)
