The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on E edge of poorly drained land in area between marshy land and well drained grassland. Well preserved tree-lined earthen bank and narrow external waterlogged fosse visible as a curving feature on E side only. At N the earthen bank forms a straight well preserved tree-lined bank with narrow external fosse. The well preserved tree-lined earthen bank with narrow external waterlogged fosse forms an irregular shaped area acting as a small farmyard for a rectangular post-medieval house now levelled which is depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map. The sharp profile of the enclosing tree-lined earthen bank which has a vertical face on the N side and narrow fosse which acts as a drainage ditch dates from the post-medieval period. A similar earthen bank enclosing a post-medieval house can be seen in the adjoining field to the S. There are several nearby post-medieval houses now mainly levelled with earthen enclosures acting as small farmyards on the edge of the poorly drained land which probably date from the 18th or early 19th century. These farmhouses stand inside small tree-lined earthen enclosures acting as the boundary feature of the small paddock or garden belonging to the post-medieval farmhouses.
