The National Monuments Service's description

Within Aghowle graveyard (WI042-019003-) there are three cross-bases (WI042-019011/012-/027-) the shafts and heads of which are now missing. Listed as cross-base A and described by Corlett (2019) as following; 'Cross base A is located 6.5m east of the church (WI042-019001-) and is partly earthfast. It consists of a sub-rectangular granite block that measures 56cm x 45cm across and at least 20cm thick. The top is quite flat and dressed. The socket measures 21cm x 13cm across and is 10cm deep. The socket is straight-sided and has an irregular base'.
