The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on level ground with a gentle slope immediately to the E. Oval area (dims. 42.5m N-S; 38.5m E-W) defined by a partly levelled earthen bank (Wth 7m; max. H 0.8m). No indication of an external fosse, entrance or internal features. As it lay on the route of the proposed Arklow bypass, Wicklow County Council commissioned a full archaeological excavation (Licence No. 96E0156) of the site. (www.excavations.ie)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
