The National Monuments Service's description

This is the record for two pits excavated by Yvonne Whitty (E3232) on the N11 road improvement scheme. These two identical pits were sealed beneath burnt mound material (WI036-074----) but probably earlier in date than the burnt material as one of the pits contained sherds of Beaker pottery dated to the late Neolithic period, whilst the burnt mound is probably Bronze Age in date. (Whitty 2009k)
