The National Monuments Service's description
In low-lying, wet marshy ground and extremely overgrown at time of inspection in 1998. A sub-rectangular platform (c. 41m NNW-SSE, c. 30m ENE-WSW) defined by a scarp (c. 1m H at N; 0.2m H at SE; 0.5m H at S) with a gap (Wth c. 8-10m) at the E. A NNW-SSE ditch (Wth 1m; D 0.8m) flanked by an earthen bank on the W side appears to truncate the site at the W and there are no visible remains W of this field fence. At the base of the scarp at the N is a wet flat bottomed ditch (Wth at base 2m; D 0.6m) which continues along the NE. There is no trace of this fosse at the E or SE, however at the S there are traces of an overgrown fosse (Wth at base 2m; D 0.3-0.4m) and a low counter scarp bank (Wth 2m; H 0.1-0.2m). The site is known locally as a fort.
