The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a gentle SE-facing slope with a steeper slope to the stream immediately SE of the site. Oval area (dims. 47.2m NE-SW; 45.5m NW-SE; max. ext. dims. 59.3m NE-SW; 52m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth up to 11m; int. H 0.9m; max. ext. H 2.4m) from S-WNW and from N-E, with scarps elsewhere (Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.3m). There is an outer fosse (Wth 3m; D 0.4-0.5m) E-S-N, and a slight counterscarp bank at the SE. A gap at the SW (Wth 3m) appears to be the original entrance, with a ramp leading up from the base of the fosse. A small circular feature (diam. 15m) is attached to the site at the SSE and may have been an annexe.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
