The National Monuments Service's description
Price (1980, 13-14) mentions a church (WI030-037----) in this townland, first mentioned in 1280. A late medieval graveslab with an incised wheel cross and a serpent at the base of an inscription, now in the NMI (where it is designated DU018-257----), may have come from this site.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
