The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in the SE angle of a moated site (WI030-005001-). Described in the OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1928, 121-2) as a square castle (c. 13.64m x 13.64m) with four circular corner towers. The SW corner tower, with walls 0.85m thick, survived to a height of 7.44m in 1838 and was 1.38m in internal diameter. The tower house appears to have been c. 13.4m long. Parts of the tower and wall are visible in a garden.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
