The National Monuments Service's description
In modern coniferous plantation. Depicted on the 1838 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a small grove of trees on poorly drained lands on the landscaped demesne lands of Kilranelagh House located 240m to SW. Not depicted as an antiquity on any ed. OSi historic maps. Shown on the OSi 25-inch map as a sub-rectangular shaped enclosure (dims. 18m N-S x 18m E-W) with trees standing inside. Present remains consists of a slightly raised mound on a hillock with large boulders or rock outcrop visible at NW. Possible remains of a small barrow standing on a low hillock which may have been re-used as a landscape feature/tree plantation associated with nearby Kilranelagh House.
