The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on NE slops of Baltinglass Hll. Standing on a level rounded platform projecting NE with extensive views to N towards Spinans and E towards Brusselstown, Kilranelagh Hill and Keadeen Mountain. Rathcoran hillfort (WI027-026001-) 230m to W. Present remains consist of a megalithic chamber with a capstone formed by an inverted L-shaped boulder sitting on several boulders/uprights with traces of a ruinous cairn. Landowner thinks rest of cairn would have been robbed out when they were building stone walls and a drainage channel running NW-SE located immediately to W. Possible ring of kerbstones visible. Possible either second chamber (or original length of chamber if major alterations) to rear (W) represented by a rectangular arrangement of stones to ground surface. Entrance facing NE.
