The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a NE-facing slope near the foot of Tinoran Hill. Natural unmarked spring which was reported in the OS Name Books as having 'been good for various cures'. No surviving local traditions.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
