The National Monuments Service's description
Holy well dedicated to St Patrick that is situated on Greenhill Road on the outskirts of Wicklow town. According to Lynch (1994, 638) there is a holy well dedicated to St Patrick in Corporation Lands that is mentioned in the 1930s Irish Folklore Commission, Schools Manuscript Collection (IFC S 926: 115). The folklore manuscripts recorded a ‘story about St Patrick overcoming pagan magic at the well’ (IFC S 926: 115).
