The National Monuments Service's description
In recently clear-felled forestry, on the edge of a natural terrace on a NW slope overlooking lower ground to the NW, N and NE. A low, oval, earthen mound (diams. 15m NE-SW; 10.5m NW-SE; H 0.5m at SE-1.5m at NE and NW) the edge of which appears cut back at the NW, suggesting it was originally more circular in plan. A granite pillar (H 1.85m) 5m to the SE has a series of drill-holes for splitting the stone and was probably erected in modern times.
