The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on level ground between the Ardasan and Avonmore rivers. Healy (1972, 106) described a bullaun stone with two basins (diam. 0.4m x 0.33m x 0.18m D; diam. 0.35m x 0.33m x 0.18m D) that was 'near the foresters house at Derrybawn, 200 yards east of bridge' (Healy 1972, 136). According to Healy (1972, 136) 'despite the exact directions given by Price, and a photograph which shows the forest fence beside this stone, this cannot now be located'.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
