Situated on a gentle S-facing slope in close proximity to the monastic remains at Glendalough (WI023-001----, WI023-002----, WI023-003----, WI023-004----, WI023-005----, WI023-006----, WI023-007----, WI023-008----, WI023-009----, WI023-010----, WI023-011----, WI023-012----, WI023-013----, WI023-014----, WI023-015----, WI023-016----, ). A small area of ironworking activity represented by pits and areas of furnace debris discovered during excavation prior to the development of the Visitor Centre. Pottery finds dated the ironworking to the thirteenth or fourteenth century (Manning 1983-4, 342-7).
