The National Monuments Service's description
Price (1946, 55) cites an Inquisition of 1617 as describing ‘Kenvelog above the bog’. He also suggests that the first part of the townland name ‘Camenabologue’ probably represents the Irish word ‘céim’ or track and states that ‘the old track over the mountains passes through the townland’.
