The National Monuments Service's description

Large house possibly of 17th- or 18th-century date marked on the Down Survey (1655-6) in the vicinity of Ballyhubbock House. Price (1949, 160) suggests the house was built by Cahir O'Toole who died in 1622.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
