The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a gentle S-facing slope. Two cist graves discovered in 1950 and 1951, c. 5.4m apart. Cist (1) (WI021-036----) (dims. 0.95m N-S; 0.58m E-W) was disturbed but produced sherds of a bowl. Cist (2) (WI021-036001-) (dims. 0.7m N-S; 0.2m E-W) produced the cremation of an adult, a bowl food vessel and a plano-convex flint knife. Not visible at ground level; the exact location was difficult to determine as there has been some house building in the immediate vicinity. (Hartnett 1952, 153-61; Waddell 1990, 162)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
