The National Monuments Service's description
This site was archaeologically excavated (Licence No. 01E1072) before the N11 Newtownmountkennedy-Ballynabarny Road Scheme and comprised a small burnt mound in a hollow in a low-lying area. The spread of burnt material measured 11m by 7m and overlay a subrectangular trough that measured 2.2m by 1.5m. Large post-holes were situated in the corners of the trough. A large, irregularly shaped pit lay nearby, which contained several sherds of probable Bronze Age pottery (Bennett 2003, 428).
