The National Monuments Service's description

Unlocated possible holy well within the townland of Roundwood. According to Lynch (1994, 639) there is a holy well in the townland of Roundwood that is mentioned in the 1930s Irish Folklore Commission, Schools Manuscript Collection (IFC S 918: 34/35). The folklore manuscripts recorded the tradition that ‘it was unlucky to pass it without making the Sign of the Cross’ (Lynch 1994, 639).
