The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a gentle SW-facing slope. About one third of a circular enclosure (diam. 28m) (W portion) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3m; H 1.2m) preserved in an otherwise fairly narrow field boundary. No indication of the remainder of the site shown as circular on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. No indication of an entrance, external fosse or internal features.
Test excavations carried out in 2005 prior to the construction of the dwelling to the NE did not reveal anything of archaeological significance (Molloy 2008, 419).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
