The National Monuments Service's description
Situated beside the road in a depression towards the NW end of spur of high ground. Large earthfast granite boulder with an incised simple cross with T-shaped terminals (H 0.24m; Wth 0.2m) on an exposed flat surface. The site is known locally as the 'Wooden Cross'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
