The National Monuments Service's description
Circular cairn (diam. 30m; max. H 3.5m) on the summit of Church Mountain. The centre of the cairn has been hollowed out to form an enclosure in which there are the foundations of a church (WI015-029001-) and a well (WI015-029003-). Herity (1974, 258) suggests it may be a passage tomb, but there is no trace of a kerb. Three slabs lie in the SW quadrant.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
