The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on or close to the summit of a low hill. A possibly kerbed mound (H c. 4.5m). In 1927 it produced at least one cist, which contained cremated bone, and five vessels (one bowl food vessel, a second food vessel and a pygmy cup survive). The mound is said to have been levelled in the 19th century. Not visible at ground level. (Walshe 1931, 122-3; Waddell 1990, 160)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
