The National Monuments Service's description
In December 2009 a series of test trenches were opened (Excavation Licence 09E0554) in the area immediately S and SE of the medieval church and graveyard (WI013-029001- and WI013-029002-). A large number of post-holes, stake-holes, pits, ditches, a kiln and a burnt spread were exposed. Finds included medieval pottery, slag, and a crucible. (Whitty 2012, 225-7)
