The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a gentle N-facing slope. Oval enclosure (dims. 18m NE-SW x 13m NW-SE) defined by a stony bank (Wth 3-5m; H 0.4-1.2m). There is an intermittent revetment of small boulders along the inner and outer edge of the bank. No trace of a fosse. The entrance consists of a simple gap (Wth 2m) at the SE; the N terminal of the bank is flanked by a radially set boulder. A low earthen bank (Wth 1m; H 0.25m) extends in an arc across the site from E to W. To the south of this is a rectangular area (dims. 2.5m x 2m), possibly a hut foundation, defined by small boulders. Along the W perimeter the site has been pushed in and used as a dump for field clearance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
