The National Monuments Service's description

On the steep NW-facing lower slope of Woodend Hill in an area of very rocky unimproved rough pasture. A series of about fifteen rectangular house or hut foundations laid out irregularly along a narrow artificial path rising in a dog-leg across the face of the slope. The largest structures (on the W side) measure up to 11m x 5m (externally) and in this area the layout of the settlement is more regular with four buildings aligned NE-SW in a small terrace. Several of the individual sites are distinguished only by well-defined rectangular terraces with rough blocks of stone edging both the uphill and downslope sides.
