The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a gentle NW-facing slope on a northern spur of Lugnagun. An oval cairn (dims. c. 12m x 10m; max. H 1.8m) defined on the W side by a kerb which forms a flattened facade. Four kerbstones are visible. The centre of the mound has been dug out, exposing the rectangular gallery (dims. c. 6m x 1.8m), represented by two sidestones, three outer wall stones and one buttress stone. There is evidence for internal walling within the cairn on the S side. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 140)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
