The National Monuments Service's description

Named 'stone cross' on both editions of the OS 6-inch map (1838 and 1885) although not depicted in gothic script. A granite cross (H c. 1.2m; Wth at base 0.3m; T of base 0.24m; Wth across arms 0.8m; T of arms 0.24m) set just inside field fence on E side of road. The face which fronts onto road (W face) has IHS inscribed on it and a cross symbol above which is incorporated into the H of IHS. A small stone head projects below IHS and two straight lines are incised either side of it. The E face does not appear to have any decoration on it. There are two stones at the base of the cross - one at either side.
