The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on level ground with the ravine of the N-S Ballymacart river c. 200m to the W. This is the parish church of Ballymacart within a rectangular graveyard (dims. c. 55m E-W; c. 40m N-S) defined by stone-clad earthen banks. The church is a rectangular structure (ext. dims. 21m E-W; 8.5m N-S), of which only the S (T 0.8m; H 2.2m) and E (H 1.5m) walls partially survive. There is a destroyed window towards the E end of the S wall, and a break towards the W end may be the entrance. (Power 1898a, 197-8)

Power, Rev. P. (1898a) Ancient ruined churches of Co. Waterford, WAJ 4, 83-95, 195-219.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
