The National Monuments Service's description

According to Power (1952, 96) Drumgallane, or Drum Galláin, means the hill of the Galláns or standing stones. He records that formerly two standing stones, one slender, the other rather thick were on the hill. A standing stone (WA038-069----), possibly one of those mentioned by Power, was identified in Drumgullane West in 2018. The location of the other standing stone remains unknown.

Power, Rev. P. (1952) Place names of the Decies. (second ed.) Cork University Press.
