The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the crest of the E-facing side of a broad hill. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 28m E-W; 24m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (max. Wth 5.5m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.8m at N) W-NNE which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.7m) NE-S. There are slight traces of an outer fosse (Wth of top 9-16m; Wth of base 4-5m; D 0.2m) S-NE. There is no visible entrance. A ‘cave’ marked on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map may indicate a souterrain (WA038-014002-), but there is no visible evidence of, or local knowledge of one.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
