The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a gentle SE-facing slope planted with a cereal crop. Depicted as a rectangular structure oriented E-W (L c. 15m) within a subrectangular enclosure (dims. c. 55m N-S; c. 30m E-W) defined by field banks on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, where it is described in Gothic lettering as a church. It is not thought to be connected with St. Molua but to mean 'my Lua's church' (Power 1907, 95-6). Nothing is visible at ground level.
Power, Rev. P. (1907) Place names of the Decies. WAJ. 10, 14- ?, 88-134, 184-240, 263-310.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
